Joanna Runs the Country Music Marathon

As most of you already know, my marathon was April 27th and I FINISHED!!!

It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. There were over 600 people (in this particular race) running for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and together we raised over $1.2 million!!

The actual course was extremely hilly and I felt great until mile 20 (well, not great but within the context of marathon running feeling 'great' really means that you can still actually run and that your brain has not gone to complete mush which inevitably happens after about 3 hours of running) was at that point that my legs became disobedient and regardless of how loudly my mind told them to keep running they would not listen. So, while there were a few miles that were walked I still managed to finish in a Net time of about 4 hrs and 30 mins.

I want to thank ALL of you for your support. I am not only so LUCKY to be alive but am extremely fortunate to be able to share my life with such incredible people. The weekend was an emotional one for me and words cannot express just how nice it was to be joining the battle against cancers from the outside and NOT from a hospital bed!!!

As soon as my family and I assemble our pictures from the weekend I will forward the website where they will be posted.

Again, my deepest thanks to you!
